About Our Writers

The Weekly Lineup originally started in my basement with a computer, a microphone and a dream.  Now we've gotten to the point of doing live shows and blogging almost daily about random sports topics.  As of Now we have 4 writers and here's a little more about us:

Michael Curtis:

I'm originally from Rochester, NY and I currently live there too but I used to live in Pittsburgh and went to Duquesne University.  I received a degree in History but I originally started out in journalism because I wanted to get into sports journalism, lo-and-behold here I am coordinating for this show.  My areas of expertise are the NFL, NHL, MLB college football and basketball.  I only recently started watching the NBA but this postseason has been awesome to watch.  I'm a fan of the Mets, Penguins, Packers, Thunder, Spurs, UNC, Auburn and Clemson.  I update the twitter page quite frequently so feel free to ask me any questions (@weeklylineup) or email us weeklylineup@yahoo.com to find out more about us.

Jon Covney:

I’m originally from Rochester, NY and just graduated (again) from Ithaca College with my masters in Sport Management this year and my bachelors in sports studies last year so now I’m looking for a job in the sports industry (if you know of one let me know!).  I consider myself very knowledgeable about the NHL (hockey in general), NFL, as well as in college basketball, football, and hockey and various topics regarding sports economics, law, and marketing. I’m a fan of the Buffalo Bills (despite how many times they have broken my heart), Pittsburgh Penguins, and the Wisconsin Badgers.  Follow me on twitter (@JCovney15), or email me at JCovney1@gmail.com if there is something you would like me to write about or just to share any ideas.

Scott Brunner:

I was born in raised in Mentor, Ohio, I'm a Diehard Cleveland cavs fan (season tickets actually), my favorite football teams are the Raiders and Browns, my favorite college is UCLA. I graduated with my Associates of Arts from Lakeland CC. I am also known for obscure references in writing I will Answer any question on any sports topic so please email me at sbrunner_ohio@yahoo.com.

Pat Kral aka "Pat from Cleveland":

I grew up about twenty minutes east of Cleveland Ohio in the town of Mentor. Although I was not a big sports fan through my school years, thanks to Scott Brunner, I soon fell in love with sports once I finished High School. The Cleveland Browns and football are my first love followed closely by the Cavaliers and basketball. I am also a fan of college sports with football leading the way again. Although I try not to let any personal biases seep into my blogs and when I speak on the show, I apologizes for what sometimes cannot be helped. At the age of 25 I decided to move from Cleveland to Pittsburgh to pursue a degree in the culinary arts. There I met Michael Curtis through a mutual friend and was quickly invited to speak and write for Michael’s show, The Weekly Lineup, “TWL”. When I'm not doing something in connection with TWL, I enjoy spending time with my long time girlfriend or with my two dogs Simon and Sydney. I'm also an attention whore so if you have a free moment and care to email me for whatever reason, you can at PatFromCleveland@yahoo.com or you can follow me on Twitter (@Patastic83).
